Place an ivory or sage green tablecloth over the dining table.

Position a potted amaryllis in the center of the table. Larger dining tables may require two or three plants spaced evenly down the center of the table.

Situate plaid packages around the base of the amaryllis plant and position tea-light candle holders a few inches from the packages.

Intermingle decorative holiday figurines with holly and berry sprays throughout the tea-light candles.

Arrange a table setting for each guest. Position a dinner plate on the tablecloth directly in front of each chair and top with a salad plate. Place the dinner fork to the left of the dinner plate and the salad fork next to the dinner fork on the outside. Position the dinner knife to the right of the dinner plate and the teaspoon next to it. Situate the bread plate a few inches above the forks and lay the butter knife horizontally across the top of the butter plate. Place the water goblet even with the butter plate slightly off center to the right of the dinner plate. Fold the cloth napkin in thirds, placing it to the left of the forks or lay across the salad plate.
