The holidays are a time of year almost synonymous with family and feasting. Whether it's an intimate meal for two or an extended family gathering, Christmas dinner is an occasion to break out the good china. While some may prefer to stick with traditional place settings and centerpieces, others may choose to put a more modern spin on things. Whichever style suits you best, you can achieve a memorable Christmas table setting with some imagination and preparation. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
- 1
Spread the tablecloth evenly over the entire table, making sure to smooth out any wrinkles.
2Set a place for each guest. If using chargers, place them on the table with a dinner plate on top of each one. Place a salad plate at the top left corner of each setting and a glass at the top right corner. Center a butter spreader above each charger and a folded napkin on the left. Lay a salad fork and dinner fork on the napkin, working from left to right. On the right side of the place setting, place a dinner knife, followed by a teaspoon and a soup spoon.
3Place a centerpiece in the middle of the table. For longer tables requiring multiple centerpieces, leave an even amount of space between each one. Decide where each guest will sit and put a place card at each place setting.
