Different Table Napkin Folds

Different Table Napkin Folds

Table napkin folds display napkins on a dining table. Some folds, such as a roll or pouch, can hold flatware, and others are purely decorative, such as a rectangular or pyramid fold. Does this Spark an idea?

Rectangular

This is the most basic of napkin folds. Napkins are sold and stored folded this way, and it is easy to execute.

Pyramid Fold

    Pyramid napkin fold

This fold creates a pyramid-shaped napkin that will stand on its own in the center of a plate. It is used in both formal and informal table settings.

Pouch

    Pouch napkin fold

This fold creates a pouch to hold flatware or chopsticks. It is best used for informal meals since it only holds a maximum of three utensils.

Roll

    Roll napkin fold

This fold creates a tube and is often adorned with a napkin ring. Utensils can be placed inside, which keeps them clean and contained until mealtime.

Considerations

Napkin folds are easier to execute on fabric napkins than paper napkins. Paper napkins tend to be smaller and rip easily.

Tips

Starch and iron fabric napkins or remove them from the dryer when they are still slightly damp and fold them at once. Folding will be easier, with the end result crisp and free of wrinkles.
