Loosen the adhesive caulking between the vanity top and the cabinet base with a chisel. Remove the top.
2Remove the cabinet doors and hinges and paint or refinish the inside and outside of the cabinet.
3Apply a bead of adhesive caulk to the top of the cabinet and place a pair of hinged shutters, a large drink tray, a marble slab or any other flat object over the adhesive.
4Use the vanity as a side table, kitchen island or night stand. Use the cabinet bottom for open storage.
Create a New Vanity
- 5
Choose an old console table, low sideboard or desk, and a coordinating vessel sink.
6Place the sink bowl on top of the vanity base. Position it exactly where it will rest. Leave space behind the sink for the faucet. Mark the drain hole and remove the bowl.
7Cut the drain hole from the furniture with a hole saw of the same diameter. Install the drain system for the sink according to assembly instructions. Connect the drain to the existing drain line.
