How to Mount a Vanity on the Wall

A vanity is a dressing table that sits low and provides a place for makeup to be applied. Today's vanities are often incorporated as a part of the bathroom decor. Vanities often hold the bathroom sink and also provides drawer storage for a multitude of bathroom necessities. A vanity can be made from cabinetry, or recycled dressers or tables. Whichever style you choose, the vanity should be mounted to the wall. The easy task of mounting the vanity will ensure that the vanity remains stable. Does this Spark an idea?

    Measure from the floor to the top of vanity to ensure that the vanity will sit at the desired height and fit in the desired space.

    Place the vanity so that the cabinetry surrounds the water and drain pipes. When placed properly, the pipes should be completely enclosed within the vanity. Use a level to ensure that the top of the vanity is level. Use shims if necessary to bring the vanity into level.

    Move a stud finder along the wall and make a mark with a pencil on the wall, slightly above the vanity, where the wall studs are placed. Use these marks to determine where to drill holes in the vanity cabinet.

    Drill a pilot hole through the vanity cabinet, using a drill and drill bit. Change the drill bit to a screwdriver bit. Use 2-inch screws and drill them through the vanity cabinet to secure the vanity to the wall.
