Christmas Table Setting Ideas & Centerpieces

Christmas Table Setting Ideas & Centerpieces

Surround your holiday dinner guests with the Christmas spirit by pulling out all the stops on your table settings and centerpieces, but avoid clashing styles. Opt for complementary table settings and centerpieces to create unity across the design of the table. Carefully chosen table decorations will ensure that your Christmas table is an asset to your holiday home, not a distraction. Does this Spark an idea?

Nature Inspired

Bring the bright colors and fresh scents of natural decorations into your home for your holiday table. Arrange fresh, seasonal fruits such as oranges, apples and persimmons in a bowl lined with pine cones and needles. Use hollowed-out apples for candle holders or place card holders. Tie napkins together at each place setting with twine, and use non-dyed linen napkins for a natural look. Look for light, solid colored table settings or those with a nature motif in the design. Scatter small pine branches or orange leaves across the top of a white tablecloth to add both color and a fragrant odor.

Snow Village

Set a winter snow table fit for Frosty. Drape a sheer, glittery cloth over your own tablecloth. Arrange a snow village as the centerpiece, but raise it to eye-level using several cake display stands to hold the tiny buildings. Look for snowflake etched dinnerware for each place setting, and use a piece of silver ribbon as a napkin holder. Thread a snowflake Christmas ornament into each of the ribbons before tying the ribbon around the napkin as a favor for your guests to take home.

Red and Silver

Two colors commonly seen at Christmastime combine to create a bold table decoration for your holiday dinner. Red lends a seasonal touch while the silver suggests a sophisticated setting. Use a red poinsettia as a centerpiece. Tuck silver Christmas ball ornaments between the leaves of the plant to add sparkle to your centerpiece. Get a real set of silverware for each of the place settings, and look for red tinted glasses and glass dinnerware.
