How to Get Nail Polish Off a Finished Maple Wood Table

How to Get Nail Polish Off a Finished Maple Wood Table

Maple is a tough, elegant wood often with a light color and a tight grain. It's a good choice for cupboards, desks and tables. Unfortunately, maple may be surrounded by imperfect people who accidentally can mar the wood. A nail-polish stain is one you should treat immediately to ensure you don't have to live with that stain for a lifetime. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    1

Allow the nail polish to dry completely. Once it is dry, run the edge of a razor blade against it to remove big chunks of the polish.

    2

Sand areas of the stain that are harder to remove. Once you've sanded off all the nail polish, wipe down the maple table with a tack cloth.

    3

Dip steel wool in some furniture polish. Rub the spot in circular motions with the steel wool and furniture polish. This blends in the recovered wood area with the rest of the maple table.
