TV Stand Design Ideas

TV Stand Design Ideas

In most living rooms, the TV entertainment center is the focal point of the space. If you'd like to enhance the decor of the living or entertainment area of your home, choosing an eye-pleasing television viewing area can make all the difference. No matter the size or style of your room or television, or what your budget might allow, decorative TV stands can turn your television viewing into a work of art.

Bar Cart TV Stand

For those who have small TV sets and limited space, a decorative way to arrange your entertainment equipment without taking up much room is by using a portable bar cart as a TV stand. Use a small wheeled bar cart with lower shelving to display your television set. Choose a cart with a large space above the lower shelf, or one with adjustable shelves to accommodate your TV. This way, you can use the top surface of the cart as a bar, DVD storage or display area for framed photos, vases, books or other decorative items of your choice. This idea adds versatility, as the cart can be rolled away and stored elsewhere when the TV is not in use.

Flat Screen TV Stands

With the increasing popularity of flat screen televisions that can be mounted on walls, many of the bulky and old-fashioned TV stands and entertainment centers have become obsolete. If you have concerns about damaging your walls or having the television fall down, you may want to try a flat screen television stand. Modern contemporary styles of flat screen TV stands are now available in space-saving styles that take up little more space than the flat screen itself. These TV stands often have concealed storage shelves for CDs, DVDs and other related items behind a flat, wall-like front panel that surrounds your TV screen and gives the illusion that the TV is mounted to a wall.

Dual-Sided TV Stands

Another decorative idea for flat screen entertainment centers is a dual-sided TV stand. This type of stand can be used in the center of a room as a divider or focal point. Dual-sided TV stands have a thick and hollow wall-like shelving unit attached to a sturdy base. You can mount a flat screen television on one side and install shelves on the other to display the items of your choice. Since the stand is hollow, all appliance and equipment cords and cables can be concealed inside for a clean and neat appearance. Additional storage is available in small drawers that emerge from within the side edges.
