How to Decorate With a Leather Ottoman

How to Decorate With a Leather Ottoman

Ottomans provide the opportunity to put up your feet and relax, making the rooms in which these seats or footstools are placed much warmer and relaxing. Placing an ottoman in your space can change the feel of the room and create another decorative component to enjoy. Since there are a number of ways to add an ottoman to your space, consider your existing room components carefully. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    1

Select an ottoman that complements the existing furnishings. Your ottoman doesnt have to match your existing pieces exactly. If it doesnt match, it can prove even more visually appealing, but it should complement what you already have. If you have a pastel pink sofa, adding a deep brown ottoman would likely look out of place. Instead, choose an ottoman in a color that fits with your existing scheme.

    2

Arrange the chair placement so the ottoman doesn't create a tripping hazard. If your chair protrudes into the room, your ottoman may prove more a problem than a useful addition. Consider changing the placement, perhaps putting it caddy corner in the space to prevent tripping.

    3

Soften the ottoman by tossing a throw on it. If the rest of your space is soft and cozy, the sleek and cool ottoman could look out of place. To prevent this, select a throw in a print or color that fits with the space and place it on the ottoman.

    4

Use the ottoman as a coffee table. If your space is small and you worry that you cant accommodate an ottoman, use it in place of your coffee table, using a wooden tray to create a flat top on which you can set drinks. This uncommon use will likely prove an attention getter.
