Parents will change a baby's diaper 2,000 to 3,000 times in the child's first year alone. Most parents want to spare their backs by using a changing table instead of the floor or a bed. Having a changing pad on the table keeps the baby comfortable, as well. Although some changing tables have a small railing that keeps the pad in place, some changing tables lose that railing over time, and some parents use a regular adult dresser. In both cases, some way of securing the changing pad is necessary. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
Nonskid Mat
- 1
Cut a sheet of nonskid mat, commonly used in kitchen and bathroom drawers, to the same size of the changing pad.
2Place the nonskid mat on the dresser and center it.
3Place the changing pad on top of the nonskid mat. The mat should keep the pad from moving.
Hook and Loop Strips
- 4
Purchase hook and loop fastener strips with an adhesive backing. These are available craft and home-improvement stores.
5Wipe the dresser with a dry cloth to remove dust.
6Apply the strips to the top of the dresser and the bottom of the changing pad.
7Place the changing pad on top of the dresser. The hook and loops strips will attach to each other and keep the changing pad secure.
